Our client, a deposit-taking (DT) Sacco based in Nairobi is seeking to fill the role of an FOSA Officer
JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will be responsible for day to day operations of FOSA business, deliver business
growth through sell of available FOSA products and effectively managing operations to ensure
customer satisfaction while meeting internal and regulatory compliance requirements.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operational Management
Oversee daily operations within the FOSA.
Monitor compliance with operational guidelines, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Implement internal controls to safeguard members’ funds.
2. Customer Service & Member Support
Attend to account holders and respond to member queries.
Handle mobile banking inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
Correspond and manage FOSA-related emails.
Promote and cross-sell FOSA products to drive business growth.
3. Account & Transaction Management
Open and activate member accounts.
Reconcile member accounts (sources of income, overdrawn, and dormant accounts).
Monitor monthly standing orders and ensure timely processing.
Prepare and reconcile salary schedules and FOSA deductions.
Authorize and approve transactions within delegated authority.
4. Loan & Product Processing
Process paper-based FOSA loan applications.
Manage ATM applications, issuance, and related services.
5. Security & Compliance
Act as custodian of the banking hall and vault keys.
Supervise security personnel to ensure adherence to FOSA policies.
Serve as custodian of SACCO collaterals and securities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are an added advantage.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in banking, microfinance, or SACCO operations.
Strong knowledge of front office operations, cash management, and regulatory compliance.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
Proficiency in core banking systems and MS Office applications.
Keen attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical ability.
Ability to identify risks and implement effective internal controls.
Strong decision-making skills within delegated authority.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Capacity to supervise staff and security personnel effectively.
High integrity and ethical standards.
